MCA at GIFT helps students realize their potential for growth and success through innovative instruction in a nurturing, diverse environment. It was established in June 2009 with facilities to run Master of Computer Application with an intake of 60 students. The dept. also has a very active Training & Placement section.

Institute is well established with nicely designed, spacious Class Rooms. Classrooms are available to facilitate teaching-learning process. These trendy class rooms have comfortable seating arrangements with all modern teaching aids like LCD Projector.

Currently MCA department is enriched with 10 faculties and they not only contribute their knowledge to build vibrant academics, but also utilise their skills to apply the science of computing to solve real life research problems. The department lays stress on the application based aspects through laboratories, seminars, group discussions, viva-voce and project work, keeping pace with the growth in computer technology.

Information Science & Application Society

Department of MCA and CSE, have formed their own society “Information Science & Application Society” (ISAS) on 21st JANUARY 2012 . The Society has conducted several seminars, workshops and conferences in collaboration with IIT Bombay, ISTE and CSI.

Why MCA?

As the scientists and technocrats opines, no knowledge particle is out of tentacle of computer science. Though 20th Century witnessed the beginning of the era of computer, but 21st century has witnessed, how the computer has invaded into all other branches of knowledge, may be it is science, arts, commerce, engineering or medical sciences.

HOD’s Message

The Department of Master in Computer Applications was established in the year 2009 and offers: 3/2 years MCA programme with an intake of 60. Our MCA Program offers a leading-edge, computer science education that combines the foundations of computer science with the high-demand applied technology skills necessary in today’s evolving business world.

The department provides an outstanding academic environment complemented by excellent teaching faculty and the state-of-the-art infrastructure such as multi-media Classrooms, Computer labs and a well-stocked Library. The comprehensive curriculum covers a range of topics related to computer software and its applications with added emphasis on knowledge based learning and practical exercises.

We maintain an optimal students-to-faculty ratio to ensure that each and every student has proper faculty guidance and support. We encourage our students to be motivated and goal-orientated. We strive to instil and inculcate professional values in our students like ethical behaviour, communication etiquette, time-management skills and managerial abilities which would enable them to meet the stringent challenges of the future.

The department conducts regular seminars and workshops on Cloud computing, Bigdata, Software Security, Software Testing, Mobile and Web Application development, Networking, NS2 and many other open source and popular propriety technologies. The department promotes active Industry-Institute collaboration by identifying areas of interest.

Right from the inception of the department, we have been achieving a constant result of 100%in the final year. Our aim is to achieve 100% placement too. The department has successfully placed students in top companies such as Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Google, Nokia,HP, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, L&T, Tech Mahindra, , NIIT etc. with good remunerations.

No matter what the technology, our students and faculty are committed to a passionate pursuit of knowledge.
