Electronics and Communication Engineering
17 Years of Excellence
Electronics & Communication is leading the information revolution. Developments in multimedia applications, fibre optics, VLSI and Switching technologies are rapidly changing our lives. To compete effectively in today’s global market, professionals must keep themselves informed of innovative technological advances that fundamentally affect the Communications industry.
The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering of GIFT, established in 2007, offers a B.Tech degree with an intake of 60 students. The Department’s mission is to strive to provide a technically advanced academic environment through acquiring well directed & honest effort.
The Department provides a particular emphasis on Advanced communication systems, Microprocessor and Microcontrollers, DSP and VLSI. Electronics and Communication Engineering has well-equipped laboratories. It provides students with facilities ranging from elementary basic electronics circuits to the latest electronics and communication engineering trends. Computer and Signal Processing labs have research-oriented software for design analysis and signal processing tools. Digital and Microprocessor lab allows students hands-on experience working with microprocessor kits and furnishes basic digital system design facilities. The Department has labs that support practicals in Analog and Digital Communication, Microwave and Engineering. The major Laboratories are listed below.
The passed-out students of the ECE department are well-placed in various multinational companies such as Honeywell, TCS, Wipro Technologies, Hexaware, Satyam, Tech Mahindra, Accenture etc.

A warm welcome to the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering!
The Department was established in 2007 to provide leadership in Electronics & Communication Engineering with an intake of 120 students. We strive to train and empower our students who will improve the world by using the power of engineering principles, techniques and systems.
The Department of ECE got its NBA accreditation in 2010. The significant infrastructural design, well-equipped laboratories & hi-tech computers with high-speed internet facilities with all qualified faculty members ensure our Department’s world-class education.
Electronics and communication engineering is a dynamic and exciting area that provides excellent career opportunities in various technology areas. The department faculties are committed to teaching our students the fundamental concepts and the latest trends via intelligent teaching and learning. The students are also taught critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they confidently accommodate their future. In addition to classroom teaching, the students are guided and motivated to practically implement the principles learnt in classrooms through experimentations in the laboratories and innovation centres on Robotics and the Internet of Things. The students can include in clubs like Circuit Design, Music, Arts, Sports etc.
The Department provides a healthy environment for students and faculties to conduct inter-department collaborative research in VLSI Design, the Internet of Things, and robotics. Students are provided internship facilities in organizations like BSNL, DRDO, ECIL etc. The Department conducts workshops, expert talks and additional training programs on recent trends in Electronics and Communication Engineering in collaboration with industries to benefit faculty and students. The student projects are conducted in-house with the guidance of department faculty and industrial trainers.
Having undergone such a robust academic Programme under the supervision of the highest quality faculty members, I am sure that all passing out students of the Department can visualize, plan and develop big projects of commercial and research interests in their respective fields of expertise. The Electronics and Communication Stream graduates have been selected by some of the country’s leading software and hardware companies. The available diversity of knowledge of the faculty, with the support of the Management, Director and Principal, prepares the students to work in a global multicultural environment.
